CUET UG Overview 

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate courses in central, state, and participating universities across India. It provides a single, standardized platform for students to apply to multiple universities using one exam score. The exam is expected to be held in online mode (CBT) and will include three main sections: Languages, Domain-Specific Subjects, and a General Test. Students can choose up to five subjects based on their preferred course and university requirements. The syllabus will be based on Class 12 NCERT curriculum, and the exam will follow a multiple-choice question format with negative marking for incorrect answers. CUET UG aims to make the admission process more transparent and reduce the dependence on Class 12 board marks.

CUET UG  Notification 

CUET UG notification is expected to be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the first week of March . The official notification will include key details such as eligibility criteria, exam dates, syllabus, application process, exam pattern, and other important guidelines for candidates. Students aspiring to appear in CUET UG should regularly visit the official website cuet.nta.nic.in for updates and stay alert to ensure they don't miss the registration and application deadlines.

CUET Exam date

CUET UG exam date is tentatively scheduled to be conducted between May and June. The exact dates will be announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the official notification expected in March 2026.

CUET UG Registration Date

Students aspiring to take admission to top universities through CUET UG must complete the registration process on time. The registration is expected to start in the last week of February and will remain open for about 30 days. Missing the deadline means students won't be able to appear for the exam or take part in the admission and counselling process. CUET Registration Process

CUET UG registration process is expected to follow the same steps as previous years. To avoid any mistakes and ensure successful submission, students should carefully go through each step mentioned below:

1. Go to the CUET UG official website( cuet.nta.nic.in).

2. Start your registration process on the homepage.

3. Go through the official guidelines and eligibility instructions.

4. Enter your personal details, communication address, and other required information.

5. Create a password and select a security question. This will be used for future logins.

6.  Check all information before final submission.

7. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and email ID.

8. Fill in academic details, subject choices, and exam preferences.

CUET UG Exam Pattern

No Centralised Counselling

• CUET UG does not have a single national counselling process.

Submit CUET Scores

• Register on the university’s admission portal.

View Cut-Offs and Merit Lists

• If your score meets the cut-off, you’ll move to the next step.

Participate in Counselling

CUET UG Seat Allotment Process

Once the CUET UGresults are announced (expected in late July , each participating university begins its independent seat allotment process. Candidates must register separately on the admission portal of each university where they'll submit their CUET scores, preferences, category details, and pay any counselling fees.Seat allotment is conducted in multiple rounds (typically 3–5), based on parameters like CUET score, rank, category reservation, seat availability, and individual course choices. If a seat is granted in a round, candidates will be notified via the respective university portal, and they must accept the offer by paying a confirmation fee within the specified deadline.

Those seeking better allotments can opt for upgradation in subsequent rounds. If not satisfied or left out, candidates can wait for later rounds or participate in spot/ mop-up counselling for vacant seats after the main rounds conclude. Finally, after seat acceptance, candidates must complete document verification (including CUET scorecard, mark sheets, ID proofs and category certificates) and report to the allotted university to confirm their admission. Failure to report or pay the fees may result in seat cancellation.
